Wishing you a very happy Christmas!

Well I thought I'd break my blogging sabbatical with a post to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! It's been a tough year all round, and I have taken this year to think quite hard about my future and what I do going forward. I took four months off this year to travel through Central America, which was the best decision of the year, as well as being the perfect way to recharge my creative spirit. So, I will endeavour to restart blogging with a vengeance next year (I no longer have my Leica camera that helped me take such great photos for my blog - so hoping to replace it and get shooting great photos again), and get back into blogging and photographing food and my love of cooking.
So, for those of you who have been loyally following the sporadic prose of 'theurbanfoodie', posting such awesome posts on here and firing my imagination further, I wish you a wonderful holiday and much merriment and festive feasting.
Merry Christmas!

I'm so glad you are going to be blogging again. I followed your adventure on Master Chef, where you inspired me to start cooking (I was truly useless in the kitchen) so cannot wait to see what you will be blogging about.

Wishing you a great 2010.

After your MC win, I was wondering what ever happened to you....

Hello there, this is probaly long overdue, so here's a stab at a response. I have been working on many projects since my win, and they often do get publicised or talked about as they are often work in progress, or are confidential.
I am currently working as a flavour consultant and establishing savoury flavour trends for a global flavours and fragrance agency in Switzerland. I am consulting to several restaurants and hotels, notably the Jumeirah Group. I also work with Slow Food UK, to create awareness around ethical and sustainable food, and have been demonstrating some very exciting dishes at the Southbank Centre over the past year. I have also developed recipes and new products for Rachel's Organic, Sainsbury's, Abel & Cole and the Co-operative. I also partner with two holiday companies, providing gastronomy workshops, tours and holidays. These are www.frui.co.uk (chocolate workshops, tours to Borough and Billingsgate Market and forthcoming food trips to Barcelona and Brussels), and Tell Tale Holidays, www.telltaletravel.co.uk, where I will be the guide and escort on their forthcoming Tamarind and Spice tour across Thailand in November 2010.
I do plan to open a restaurant, but it won't be for a few years until I have fully explored the kind of dishes I want to create, and the city or cities in which I wish to start a business.
I hope this has given you a bit of an insight into what I've been up to - more blog posts to follow shortly.
To everybody who has followed my rather erratic blog posting, thank you for doing so and thank you for the great comments, they've been a real comfort and source of interest.
With best wishes,
Steven
